For clarification, my most frequently used nicknames are Alex, Xandy, Xalex, X, Sasha, and Satu. I tell you this because I'm liable to sign with any of them, and you may address me by any of these or more that you come up with.
Hi, by the way.
I love reading, writing, and music. I play a few instruments (bass guitar and violin) and hope to learn some more. Writing is a bigger thing to me than most people know. I hate my poetry, but I like a few of my stories. Maybe some day I'll actually get up the courage to share them with people? My current project is going unbelievably slowly, but if I like it as much as I hope I will, I may even follow my teacher's suggestion (not Ms. Cooper, some lady in Texas) and try to get it published in a magazine of some sort. Who knows?
People should check out the story "The Waltz", by Dorothy Parker. I love it. It makes me laugh, and I love reading it out loud to people, when I get the chance (which is rare). Coraline, also, by Neil Gaiman. It's an eerie short story with beautiful, slighly haunting drawings and a childlike voice to the narraration that makes the book even better.
I've decided that, since song lyrics are so important to me (anyone who's was around me in the months of February, March, and April of 2005 will probably know this), I must include some here. I'll try to keep them to a reasonable number.
We are the music makers
We are the dreamers of dreams
-Screaming Mechanical Brain [screaming monkey boner], Opinionation
I see my world crumble and fall, before my eyes
I know, I know
Dark will turn to light, in time I'll be alright
I know, I know
-A7X, And All Things Will End...
I've screamed for all the women
I've never been but hoped I would be
I'm proud of who I am
Forever chasing the sun
I'm proud of me
-Otep, Shattered Pieces</b>
(a few more to come. I'm busy right now.)
Alright, here's a sampling of my writing. Old poem from studying for the midterms. Studying does weird things to my brain 0.o
SO MANY CHOICES
Drowning, stabbing hit by train
Guns and nooses, too much cocaine
Shut all the windows and turn on the gas
Or just snap your neck to end it fast
Jump from the window and land with a crunch
Find old perscriptions and swallow a bunch
Drag razors and knives all over your arm
Go down the road to inflict the most harm**
Arsenic, hemlock or cyanide pill
Pick your poison and eat your fill
Lie in the road and wait to be hit
Jump in a fire and burn to a crisp
So many choices, how to decide?
On just one method of suicide
**To let you know, this is in reference to the saying "down the road, not across the street. Make it count!" A reference to cutting vertically down your arm not horisontally across your wrist so it's more likely to kill you. Yes, it's morbid, awful, and grotesque. Just like the rest of the poem.
I'll end with that. Cheery, no?. Love you all, joy to the world and all that fun.
